How great is a band in which Richard Betts is the second best guitarist ? Sort of like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in the same lineup for the Yankees. Betts goes on a nice run beginning at 2:00, and Gregg launches a great run on keyboards at 3:54. All this time Duane is anchoring the sound with lovely rhythm guitar playing, but at 5:20 Duane takes over on lead guitar, and that’s when the shit gets real. Because we usually think of Duane as a master of the slide guitar, we sometimes forget that he was a great picker as well. I love the look Gregg gives Duane around 6:50, like “Are you really that freaking good?” The answer, of course, is a resounding yes.
