Our February 26 episode featured Nashville songstress Lilly Hiatt. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Lilly’s father John Hiatt was a successful musician in his own right. A prolific songwriter, the elder Hiatt released over twenty albums but never “hit the big time” despite being liked by critics and respected by musicians. His songs have been covered by a wide diversity of artists, from Bob Dylan to Chaka Khan.
Check out the contrast between John the wizened old bluesman in tonight’s featured video and John the young rocker in this performance on Letterman in 1988.
