Bluegrass prodigy Billy Strings was born William Apostol in central Michigan in 1992. Impressed by William’s guitar playing skills at an early age, his aunt nicknamed him Billy Strings, and the name stuck. Here’s the thing about Billy: he plays guitar fast. Really fast. So he has surrounded himself with a fast picking mandolin player (Jarrod Walker), a lightning fingered banjo player (Billy Failing) and a bassist with impressively quick dexterity (Royal Masat). I promise your fingers will hurt after watching this video–but it’s worth it.
